CEC takes stock of PHE sector works, reviews stock of essential commodities

KARGIL, Nov 12: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review the progress achieved on different works in respect of PHE Sector under Capex Budget, Special Development Package (SDP) Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), languishing and other schemes.
Executive Councillor for Social Welfare Aga Syed Mujtaba Mosavi, Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, SE PWD Kargil Er Ved Prakash, Chief Planning Officer Kargil Abdul Hadi, AEEs, AEs, JEs and other concerned officers and engineers attended the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, the CEC took brief from the officers concerned about the physical and financial status of the works under PHE sector including the establishment of new water supply schemes and the reactivation of the existing ones, water supply through tanker service during the winter months, boring and installation of hand pumps besides other related works.
CEC directed the SE PWD to submit the roadmap for water supply through tanker service during the winter months for approval of the LAHDC besides also submit the file of maintenance and repair of water supply schemes for approval to DC Office by tomorrow so that repair works could be executed at the earliest.
The SE was also directed to clear the pendency in the case of 46 works of re-activation of water supply schemes and other works under JJM and submit a status report to the LAHDC, Kargil within 10 day’s time.
Meanwhile, in order to review the stock and supply position of essential commodities especially the availability of ration commodities and food items in the markets during the winter season, Feroz Ahmad Khan convened a meeting of the representatives of merchants’ and distributors’ associations here.
Executive Councillor for Cooperatives Aga Syed Mujtaba Mosavi, Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, Deputy Director Cooperatives Dr Zakir Hussain, Assistant Director, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Ruth Mary, President Distributors’ Association Kargil, President Kiryana Merchants’ Association Kargil besides the concerned distributors attended the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, the CEC inquired from the representatives of merchants’ and distributors’ associations and the officers concerned about the status of the ration commodities and food items stocked so far as well as the action plan for availability of these items for the public during the winter season.
