JAMMU, Nov 12: Senior vice-president People’s Conference (PC) and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today appealed the people to participate actively in DDC polls in order to defeat evil designs of communal forces as the encouragement of such forces is neither in the interest of J&K nor rest of the country.
Addressing workers convention here today Vakil said dividing people in the name of cast, creed and religion is not at all in the interest of the people of J&K and rest of the country.
While addressing the workers Vakil said Peoples Alliance has taken a positive decision of fighting the DDC elections unitedly. It is the welcome step and was need of the hour as the forces who exploit religion, cast and encourage hatred against each other are to be defeated at any cost as the secular fabric of the country is in danger.
Vakil said abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A was not a wise decision taken by the Government as it has not only hurt the sentiments of people of J&K but also distanced people from the mainstream not only this but the said decision made the situation of J&K economically and politically very fluid. Uncertainty is prevailing and people are suffering on especially on economic front. Not only this the people of J&K were humiliated by granting UT status. Vakil appealed people if they want their interests to be strongly safe guarded peaceful life free from communal frenzy and fast track development, they must vote and support the candidates fielded by People’s Alliance.
The convention was presided by senior leader of PC Mohan Lal Radha. While addressing the convention Mohan Lal stressed LG J&K to make recruitment process of educated youth on fast track as the unemployment problem is the burning issue in J&K which should be solved on priority.
