CEC takes stock of pending work of transmission lines, other projects

LEH, July 24: To speed up the remaining pending works of transmission lines specially commissioning of 66 KV Himya Sub Station under RGGVY, the Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Leh Dorjey Motup convened a meeting of all the concerned engineers of PDD, PDC and NHPC.
Chief Engineer PDD/PDC Ladakh KK Raina, Chief Engineer NHPC PP Singh Wilkh and Executive Councilor for Power Gyal Wangyal also attended the meeting.
CEC Dorjey Motup directed Chief Engineer NHPC to complete the remaining works of 66 KV Kharu-Himya transmission line commissioned in 2009 at the earliest so that remote villages of Changthang could also be connected with Alchi-Hydel Project in near future. Chief Engineer PDD/PDC Ladakh told CEC that based on the inspection report of Director TTIC Wing J&K PDD on 66 KV Kharu-Himya transmission line, the PDD Leh will immediately takeover the transmission line including Himya Sub Station for its commissioning at the earliest.
The meeting had a discussion on various major and minor issues including charging of remaining three feeders out of four in Khaltsi region and commissioning of 66 KV Gonpa-Gangles Transmission Line and decided to convened a meeting on August 13 to review the progress on all the pending projects.
CEC Dorjey Motup and EC Gyal Wangyal urged the Chief Engineers of PDD/PDC and NHPC to find an amicable solution to all the issues so that people of Leh district could get satisfactory power supply.
Meanwhile, CEC LAHDC Dorjey Mutup also convened a review meeting to take stock of the tourism activities and projects in the district.
EC (Agri) Tsering Angdus, EC (Health) Gyal P Wangyal, EC (Animal Husbandry) Mumtaz Hussain, EC (Tourism) Tsering Sandup DC, Leh Avny Lavasa, district officers of LDA, Wildlife, LREDA and Tourism Department and Manager Leh JKPCC were present in the meeting.
CEC urged upon the officers to concentrate on remote areas and put their best in completing the assigned projects in these villages in letter and spirit. He stressed on utility of assets and directed the officers to ensure proper utilization of the facilities being made for public. He gave instructions to clear liabilities and to complete the works in time ensuring coordination among departments.
CEC enquired about the developmental projects related to tourism promotion and directed Deputy Commissioner to constitute a quality check committee to ensure the work quality of these projects. He asked the officers to draft maintenance grant proposal to submit it to State Government for financial assistance.
