He reviewed the work to be done in remaining working season in detail and sought from the engineers about the difficulties and challenges being faced in the completion of major projects and discussed on possible solutions.
PWD cited e-tendering and poor internet service in the district as the major reason in delay of majority of projects. They informed that local contractors have failed to bid through e-tendering and for small projects the response was almost nil due to poor internet connectivity. The engineering wing put a strong demand to install V-set facility at all the sub-divisions of the district.

EC Health Gyal Wangyal appraised in the meeting about the negligible progress of projects within the ambit of PWD in Nubra sub-division owing to acute shortage of engineers and clerical staff in all the departments. CEC directed SE PWD to look into the matter treating it urgent and find ways to fill required vacant posts through internal adjustments at the earliest.
EC Agriculture Tsering Wangdus raised the point for completion of fencing and plantation in the premise of Council building. Taking a note of it, the CEC directed Ex-En R&B and Ex-En Construction to complete the work at the earliest.
Discussing the projects related to construction work of major bridges in the district, the engineers informed that there is good progress on all the bridges in the district and Sha-tse Daksna Bridge connecting Skyu-Markha will be completed within few months for traffic flow.
The CEC directed Irrigation and Flood Control division to complete all minor projects on all the irrigation canals of the district by next season. He also instructed CPO Leh to expedite the release of funds for all the ongoing and pending works vigorously.
The CEC further gave a free hand to all the Ex-Ens of engineering division to take strict action against any contractor who exhibit irrational behaviour and do not complete work within the stipulated time.
