LEH, Nov 30: Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), Ladkah Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh, Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo, accompanied by EC Works Dorjey Mutup, Councilor Lower Leh P. Wangdan Shunu, PWD engineers and officers visited Lower Leh constituency today.
They visited the localities of Zangsti, Malpak, Maney Sermo, New Leh, Norgaisling, Targyasling, Skalzangling, Ibex Colony, Stangyasling and Skara Yokma.
At Zangsti, people demanded for a community hall and immediate replacement of an old wooden pole. CEC directed Dorjey Mutup to undertake the replacement of the pole at the earliest. CEC gave strict instruction to MC Leh to clean the open space of old Sabzi Mandi area and to stop one month salary of the Safai Karamcharis of Municipal Committee and LDA who are responsible for making the area filthy and also to remove them from the present place immediately.
CEC inspected fire wood depot Leh of the Forest Department and reviewed the stock position. At Maney Sermo, a group of 34 families complained about the congestion of the place they are living in and demanded for an alternative place. They also requested to provide them with drainage and sewerage facilities under Leh Beautification Project. Dr Dawa instructed the engineers to look for the feasibility and said that council will work on a plan to look for an alternative place for their settlement.
At new Leh, people demanded funds to complete their community hall. At Skara Bazaar, CEC gave on spot direction to R&B and Municipal officials to block the source of water running over the roads of Skara Bazaar and to make a provision for the water to flow beneath the road with pipes. At Ibex Colony which has been allotted to some 1017 families with army background demanded funds to complete their community hall among many other demands.
Councilor Lower Leh, Wangdan Shunu appraised CEC of problems and aspirations of the people at all places and also assured people to arrange funds to meet their demands at Council level seeking possible support from MP and MLA.
