LEH, June 15: A meeting of all HoDs of Leh district was convened today under the chairmanship of Chairman/CEC LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal regarding the implementation of approved/sanctioned Capex Budget of 2020-21 at DC office conference hall.
At the outset, the Chairman stated that this year Capex Budget has been enhanced nearly four times than previous year, with a total amount of Rs 232.43 crore.
Keeping in view of COVID-19 pandemic, the Chairman stressed on maximum utilization of funds starting with timely completion of paper works and floating of tenders.
He further stressed for early start of work mainly Tar-macadam, drilling of hand-pump and bore wells on priority basis keeping in view of short working season. He also directed all the HoDs for strict follow-up of their projects with the executing agencies and for ensuring inter-departmental coordination.
The CEC also added that a monthly progress report and monthly review meeting will be conducted by the concerned Executive Councilors to resolve any problem related with the execution of work. He further directed the concerned department to coordinate with the public representatives including BDCs, Sarpanch and Nambardar and brought into the notice of ECs, DC and SE about the progress of works.
DC/CEO LAHDC, Leh Sachin Kumar added that priority will be given to far flung areas such as Changthang, Singay-Lalok and Nubra because of the short working season. He also stressed to achieve the target of expenditure which will ultimately affect the ceiling of next financial year budget. He also directed all the HoDs to achieve the target of expenditure of 20% of the entire budget till last week of June.
A detailed discussion was held regarding the process of tenders and other issues regarding the developmental work. The ECs and HoDs also added their inputs and raised questions regarding the concerned issues.
The meeting among others was attended by Deputy Chairman LAHDC, Leh Tsering Sandup, EC Agriculture Phunchok Stanzin, EC Education, Konchok Stanzin, EC Minority Mumtaz Hussain, SE PWD, Chief Planning Officer Leh, Tsewang Gyalson, all HoDs and Ex-en of concerned department.
