LEH, June 15: CEC, LAHDC, Rigzin Spalbar today convened a meeting of Councillors and Executive Engineers of PWD to discuss various important issues with regard to formulation of Annual Plan 2015-16.
CEC suggested all the Councillors to prepare a list of works area wise on priority as committed to the public considering the immediate need and importance under projectization to be included in the Annual Plan 2015-16. He asked the Councillors to develop an understanding with the engineers and decide on works taking everyone’s consultation and consent with reference to the tour notes. He proposed to increase the number of works under projectization which will be finalised as per the new guidelines and norms and funds allocated.
CEC said that all the ongoing works under BADP will continue and the funds required will be met by asking Centre for a onetime special funding. He also urged the Councillors to work out expenditure scheme wise on priority to get it included in the new plan. He said that minor/small works as identified by PWD engineers can be undertaken by Rural Development Department in consent with Panchayat after getting NOC from PWD to cater to the need of public.
On insistence of the Councillors, CEC assured to take up the issues related to fund allocation and utilization under BADP and CCDF with the DC, Leh to clear all sorts of confusion.
