SRINAGAR: A soldier was injured when he was shot at by a Pakistani sniper from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara on Monday.
Official sources said that Pakistani troops violated ceasefire and fired at a soldier posted at a forward post in Machil sector at around 1305 hrs on Monday. “The soldier was provided first aid and immediately taken to the military hospital in Drugmulla,” they said.
They said Indian troops retaliated effectively to the ceasefire violation. However, Defence Ministry spokesperson was not available to confirm the incident. (AGENCIES)
