RAJOURI, Jan 10: Chief Engineer Project Sampark of Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Brig Neeraj Madan along with Commander 31 BRTF and OC 79 RCC reviewed the progress of work on Rajouri-Thannamandi-Surankote, NH 701A till Peer Ki Gali and NH 144A Rajouri – Poonch.
During the review various issues related to construction of roads, bridges and tunnels were addressed. During the visit to recently taken over alignment of old Mughal road between Bafliaz to Peer Ki Gali Chief Engineer reviewed the present status of road and closely observed snow clearance operations.
Chief Engineer directed to plan maintenance of road post opening. He also directed to ensure adequate safety during snow clearance. During the visit to NH 144 road widening and tunnel construction work, Chief Engineer emphasized the necessity to ensure road safety during construction, quality and pace of work to ensure timely completion.
Issues related to land acquisition and forest clearance alongwith demolition of structures were also discussed. He directed all stakeholders to ensure close coordination in clearing the bottlenecks and ensure timely execution of all works thereby, enhancing connectivity and regional development of Rajouri and Poonch districts.
