Excelsior Correspondent
Jammu, July 26: Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu expressed its deep gratitude & appreciation to the Commissioner Commercial Taxes for accepting demand for deferring the annexures like Sale and Purchase Statements etc. while filing the Returns for the first quarter.
A spokesman of the Chamber said that the Commissioner Commercial Taxes has agreed upon the difficulties which are likely to be faced by the assesses in maintaining the required information as annexed to the New Form. It is really a welcome move, he maintained.
The Commissioner Commercial Taxes expressed his inability to restore the old VAT Return form as the departmental computers have been loaded by new system of VAT Return and it is not possible for the department to accept the old return forms. But he assured and committed to the Chamber that the Commercial Tax Department will be accepting the new Return forms for the first quarter without any Annexure whatsoever, as was the practice in vogue. The Commissioner further elaborated that the information sought in the new Return forms is the same as was being furnished by the assesses in the Old Return Forms only the format has been changed.
