CCI, traders take up public issues with CM

JAMMU, May 27: Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) delegation including representatives from various trade bodies and Bazar Associations met the Chief Minister here today and took up the issues of traders and general public of Jammu areas.
They took up the issue of shifting of ISBT to an isolated place at Narwal and said that general public, pilgrims and tourists will face lot of problems due to it. They demanded that present Bus Stand at B C Road be made terminal point for lifting and dropping the passengers for the buses of all the routes and newly created bus stands at Narwal and Bye Pass Nagrota be used for idle parking as already decided in Government meetings.
The CCI delegation led by its president Y V Sharma further demanded that a multi-parking facility at existing Bus Stand at B C Road be created which will not only decongest the area but will also generate revenue for the Government. It was also pointed out that Special Task Force for Jammu has already finalized a DPR of this composite project worth Rs 77 crore. They claimed that the Central Government has provided Rs 35 crore for the modernization of General Bus Stand with multi-storey parking facilities and making it terminus point.
The delegation also added that more flyovers be created and parking facilities be developed to remove congestion in the city besides expediting works on other important ongoing projects.
The Chief Minister gave patient hearing and appreciated the concern of the Chamber and assured that interests of the general public and traders would be taken into consideration.
Prominent among others who accompanied the delegation included Arun Gupta secretary general CCI, Anil Gupta vice president, Deepak Aggarwal secy, Ravi Mahajan, Kuldip Wahi, Baldev Khullar, Madhu Sharma, Ramesh Tak, Rajesh Raina and Jyoti Saroop.
