CCI apprises MP Jugal about issues, demands of business community

JAMMU, Sept 17: Member of Parliament and senior BJP leader Jugal Kishore Sharma today visited the Chamber House where Arun Gupta, President, Chamber of Commerce & Industries, apprised him about various issues and demands of Jammu people, particularly the business community.
Arun Gupta said that work on expansion of Jammu Airport and its development as an International Airport be speeded up by resolving the pending issue of remaining land which has been transferred to Airport Authority of India from Animal/ Sheep Husbandry Department.
Arun Gupta also alleged that the funds meant for Jammu Smart City Project were being used in a haphazard manner without doing the ground work for the development. He further suggested that the projects should be separated from different department to have genuine benefit and the main chowks of the city should be developed in such a manner to create a better of market.
Ravinder Sawhney, while speaking on the occasion, said that the drainage system in the city is very poor and needs to be developed.
Jagdish Langer, prominent Industrialist, raised the point regarding CLU and said that the same was not up to mark. He explained that circle rates for Private land for Industries are Rs 3 to 4 lakhs per kanal whereas the Government has fixed the rate of Rs 16 lakhs per kanal due to which industries are not being developed.
Rajan Gupta, President of the JPDA Jammu, opposed entry of Reliance/multi brand chains in wholesale or retail market on the ground that the import of online medicines would create havoc in the market.
Jugal Kishore Sharma gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the CCI members and said that he would take up the issues with the concerned departments.
The other office bearers of CCI present in the meeting, included Anil Gupta, Sr Vice President; Rajeev Gupta, Jr Vice President; Rajesh Gupta, Secretary and Rajesh Gupta, Treasurer.
