CB’s lopsided charge sheet will deny justice to victim: Team Jammu

JAMMU, May 4: Endorsing view point of the people of Jammu to handover Rassana murder case to the CBI for fair trial, Team Jammu today termed charge sheet filed by the Crime Branch as lopsided and full of discrepancies, deliberately prepared to shield the real culprits and to deny justice to the victim.
“The minor victim of the barbaric incident was daughter of Jammu and we will ensure justice to our daughter by frustrating nefarious design of the Crime Branch to shield the real culprits”, chairman of Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said while addressing executive committee meeting of the Team Jammu here this morning.
“We will not fall into trap of those who have dubbed people of Jammu as communalist and charged us with supporting accused for demanding CBI probe into heinous crime”, Zorawar Singh said, adding “Our fight for justice for the victim and her family will continue to frustrate nefarious designs of those forces which are desperately trying to set Jammu on fire by giving communal colour of this heinous crime”.
Batting strongly for justice to the victim, he claimed that the probe by the Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police was done on questionable line amid threats and coercion by a team of officers from a particular region only including one who served jail term for alleged rape and murder of a minor.
“A police officer, who himself had faced the charges of murder and rape, was especially involved in the investigation due to his expertise in coming clear on such charges, to give an escape route to the culprits who had committed this heinous crime”, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said.
Team Jammu demanded a CBI probe as the investigation by the crime branch will “only benefit the accused in the case and deny justice to the girl”, he said.
Coming down heavily on State Government to create divide among Dogras and Gujjars, living in complete brotherhood and communal harmony, he regretted that for petty political gains some Valley based forces were all out to set Jammu on fire.
Among others, who attended the meeting, included Anupam Sambyal, Surinder Sharma, Chandan Dutta, Vikesh Amba, Akshay Gupta, Sanjay Sharma, Karandeep Thakur, Yogesh Kumar and Sunil Gupta.
