Srinagar, Aug 30: The Economic Offences Wing of the Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) today conducted searches at six different locations in connection with an MBBS admission scam.
According to a CBK spokesperson, the searches were carried out in an FIR registered against four individuals accused of luring aspirants with fake promises of MBBS admissions in Bangladesh.

Following a complaint, an inquiry was initiated which revealed that a huge amount of money had been collected from candidates under the false pretext of securing admissions.
“However, the amount was never deposited with any Medical College. The preliminary investigation has substantiated the allegations of fraud,” CBK said.
Accordingly, a case has been registered against the accused for offences related to cheating and criminal conspiracy, punishable under Sections 420 and 120-B of the IPC.
The accused have been identified as Peerzada Aabid, son of Peerzada Mohammad Nayeem, resident of Bijbehara, at present Azad Basti, Natipora, Srinagar; Syed Wasim, son of Syed Bashir Ahmad, resident of Kareemabad, Pulwama, at present Azad Basti, Natipora, Srinagar; Syed Suhail Aijaz, son of Syed Aijaz Qadri, resident of Takia Magam, Kokernag, at present Muslimabad, opposite N R Colony, Bemina, Srinagar; and Zaigam Khan, son of Gulzar Khan, resident of Bemina, Srinagar.
Preliminary findings, CBK said, revealed that Peerzada Aabid is the proprietor of an educational consultancy named Europe Consultancy Centre, while the remaining three accused—Syed Wasim, Syed Suhail Aijaz, and Zaigam Khan—are owners of Overseas Consultancy.
