CBI raids Bank, ex-Manager’s residence

Srinagar, Jan 29: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today raided Grameen Bank and it’s former Manager in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The CBI team raided the Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank Khumriyal Kupwara this morning and also raided the house of it’s former Manager, Shariq Ahmad Khan, at Mazhar Hyma.
They took important documents from the Bank in their possession and also collected some important bank documents from the house of the Bank Manager. They also took away passbooks of the family members of the Bank Manager.
The raid was conducted regarding the embezzlement case in the bank. Sources said that Rs 1.5 crore were embezzled from the bank branch few years ago when he was posted there as Manager.
Khan was for last few years posted at Grameen Bank Kupwara and had been recently transferred but was yet to be relieved.
