CBI nabs Girdawar taking graft

JAMMU, Aug 13: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested a Revenue official for accepting bribe to issue a land document.
An official spokesman said a CBI team arrested Ajay Kumar, Girdawar Miran Sahib in Jammu district, for demanding and accepting Rs. 25,000 from the complainant.
He had sought Rs. 50,000 for issuing a land record and said it should be paid in two instalments of Rs. 25,000 each.
The spokesman said the CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while accepting Rs. 25,000.
Rs. 2 lakh in cash was recovered during searches, he said, adding, the accused was produced before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption (CBI cases) in Jammu.
