JAMMU, Feb 19: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) today registered a case against then Assistant Garrison of Military Engineering Services (MES), BS Linganayak, then posted as Quality Supply Officer, GE Utility, Udhampur and Shagul Builders, Udhampur.
The regular case by the CBI has been registered following preliminary investigations conducted into the case confirmed that they had caused a loss of Rs 5.87 lakh to the State exchequer.
The Shagul Builders, Udhampur had produced fake invoices of Chantranchal Enterprises, Vikas Nagar, Chandigarh to the tune of Rs 5.87 lakh, which were accepted by Linganayak, presently posted in Kochi.
The fake invoiced pertained to purchase of steel pipes.
The investigations in the case were being supervised by JP Mishra, HoD CBI, Anti-Corruption Jammu. The case has been entrusted to Inspector CBI Lalit Kumar.
