CBI arrests 2 directors of regional TV channel

NEW DELHI, July 23: The CBI has arrested two directors of a regional TV channel for allegedly using forged documents to procure loans from nationalised banks, a CBI official said today.

“Two directors of a regional Bhojpuri channel P K Tewari and Anand Tewari have been arrested for using forged documents to procure loans of nearly Rs 100 crore from three nationalised banks here,” the CBI official said.

The official added that the case was registered by the probe agency in January this year on a complaint from Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank and Union Bank of India which were allegedly cheated by the directors.

They allegedly produced fake invoices and Chartered Accountant certificates to secure loans.
