SURANKOTE, Sept 25: The three-day Multi-Media Exhibition (ICOP) on BNS-23, Mission LiFE, Swachhta Hi Seva and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) concluded today at Government Degree College Surankote, Poonch.
The event was organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Poonch, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, under the supervision of Ghulam Abbas, Director CBC J&K, Ladakh.
The exhibition, which began on September 23, witnessed active participation from officers, teachers, students, locals and opinion leaders.
Stalls were set up by various departments including ICDS, Social Welfare, Rural Development and Health to spread awareness about Government schemes.
Free health check-ups and distribution of medicines were also carried out during the three days.
Tehsildar Surankote Akbar Hussain appreciated the outreach initiative, stressing that such programmes help ensure Government schemes reach the poor and needy at the grassroots level.
Director CBC Ghulam Abbas highlighted that the Government’s pro-poor schemes are transforming lives across the country and CBC is working to spread awareness in every corner of J&K and Ladakh.
Speakers from different fields also addressed the gathering. Dr Adnan Ali Shah of GDC Surankote gave a presentation on the National Education Policy 2020 and spoke about the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme, emphasizing unity in diversity.
Community Health Officer Dil Mohammad detailed several health schemes like PMJAY, JSK, JSSK, and RBSK while SHO Surankote Aijaz Wani explained the three New Criminal Laws—Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita and Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. He also raised concern over drug abuse, urging collective efforts for prevention and rehabilitation.
Officers from Sheep Husbandry and other departments also highlighted schemes for farmers and tribal communities.
The programme concluded with cultural events, quizzes and felicitation of participants, resource persons and winners by CBC, Poonch.
