KATRA, Sept 27: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Regional Office, Jammu (J&K and Ladakh) is set to intensify its involvement and initiatives during the upcoming annual Navratra Festival, slated to occur from October 15 to 23 in Katra.
A comprehensive review meeting presided over by the Chairman of the organizing committee, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, was convened in this regard in Katra to discuss the forthcoming festivities.
Joint Director of CBC, Ghulam Abbas, shared that the bureau has ambitious plans for this occasion, including a multimedia exhibition in the form of a substantial Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP).
He said that this exhibition will span all nine days of the festival and showcase various themes, such as “9 Years of Governance,” “Mission LiFE,” and “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” alongside other significant schemes and initiatives.
Abbas further disclosed that CBC will present devotional cultural programs and theme-based performances linked to Central Sponsored schemes.
To enrich the cultural dimension of the festival, he said, the department has enlisted cultural troups from over nine regions represented by CBC from across the country. These regions encompass Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Jaipur, Imphal, Pune, Chandigarh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Highlighting the collaborative spirit of the event, Abbas emphasized that CBC’s platform at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Katra, will be made available for various other departments, schools, and organizations to host competitions and showcase their talents.
It was also noted that the troupes associated with CBC will actively participate in Prabhat Pheri and Shobha Yatra, portraying and endorsing the values of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.”
