JAMMU, Apr 25: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch Jammu has resolved a complaint filed by three ex-servicemen regarding non-installation of rooftop solar panels despite payment of over Rs 7.75 lakh to a vendor.
Officials said Rajinder Kumar of Purkhoo, Vinod Badhkulia of New Shanti Nagar, Kunjwani, and Jagdesh Chander of Sanjay Nagar had deposited Rs 2, 58, 500 each on Feb 6, 2025, for installation of solar panel systems at their homes.
They said the amount was paid to the proprietor of a private firm, M/S Friends Electrical Mechanical Electronics, for execution of the work, but the installations were not completed.
Following receipt of the complaint, officials said Crime Branch initiated an enquiry and summoned the vendor, directing him to fulfill his commitments.
After the intervention of the agency, the pending work was completed and rooftop solar panel systems were installed at all three houses, they said, adding that the systems are fully functional now.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu, Faisal Qureshi said the Department remains committed to protecting public trust and advised citizens to stay alert and report such offences promptly.
