CB books fraudsters

JAMMU, Apr 18: Crime Branch Jammu has booked some fraudsters for cheating the innocent persons of their hard earned money on the pretext of providing them jobs in Railway Department.
A case under Section 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of RPC has been registered against Rajbir Singh of Karnal Haryana, Ramu of Kharagpur, Akhilesh Sharma of Delhi and some officials of South Eastern Railways, who duped their victims of Rs 32 lakh.
The case was registered on a direction by Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu following a complaint by Sunil Chib of Satwari Jammu who was running a placement agency under name and style Kalika Placement & Service.
According to the complainant, he received a phone call from one of the accused Rajbir   Singh who introduced himself as official of the Recruitment Sector Railway Kharagpur West Bengal and said that some candidates were required for the post of C&D Group in South Eastern Railway, Kharagpur. On this, the complainant sent his real brother Happy Singh and maternal uncle Kuldeep Singh Manhas who were selected with issuance of appointment letters as well as ID cards for which an amount of Rs 8 lakh was demanded and paid also. However, it was later found that the appointment letters were fake and Rajbir Singh had duped these persons of an amount of Rs 32 lacs on the pretext of providing them jobs.
On receipt of the complaint, an inquiry was initiated in Crime Branch Jammu and the offence was established prima facie following which the case was registered against the accused.
