Caustic soda rises on fall in supply

NEW DELHI, Oct 12:  Caustic soda prices were up by Rs 50 per 50 kg in the national capital today in view of fall in supplies from producing belts amid rising demand from consuming industries.

Caustic soda flake traded Rs 50 higher at Rs 2,100-2,150 per 50 kg.

Marketmen said apart from good demand from detergent manufacturers, tight supplies from producing regions pushed up caustic soda prices at the wholesale chemical market here.

Ammonium chloride (50 kg) Rs 1,100-2,000, Acetic acid (1kg) Rs 53-57, Ammonia bicarb (25 kg) Rs 550-650, Boric acid technical (50 kg) Rs 4,100-4,800, Borex granular (50 kg) Rs 2,200-2,500.

Caustic soda flake (50 kg) Rs 2,100-2,150, Citric acid (50 kg) (China) Rs 2,950-3,250, Citric acid deshi (50 kg) Rs 3,000-3,500, Camphor slab (1 kg) Rs 320, Camphor powder (1kg) Rs 285, Glycerin (1 kg) Rs 140-160, Hexamine (1kg) Rs 92, Hydrogen peroxide (1 kg) Rs 35-50, menthol bold crystal (per kg) Rs 1,040, menthol flake (1 kg) Rs 1,020 and mentha oil (1kg) Rs 1,000.
