JAMMU, Jan 10: Panun Kashmir (PK) conducted the meeting of its Political Affairs Committee (PAC) under the chairmanship of Prof. M.L. Raina, Chairman of the Committee here today.
The meeting was attended by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, P K, Virender Raina, its national spokesperson, Upinder Kaul, general secretary, Kamal Bagati, general secretary (Org), Virender Kaul, organizing secretary, N.M.Gadroo, treasurer, Vijay Qazi, secretary, P.K. Bhan, Ashok Chrungoo and Sameer Bhat, Convener, Panun Kashmir Youth attended the meeting.
The meeting revoked the suspension on the organizational activities imposed one month before by PBK for the successful conduct of the Chetna Divas programme and Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Saheb Sammaan Yatra-2018. The members expressed complete satisfaction over the success of the programmes and decided to organise a demonstration on this year’s Holocaust Day on January 19 outside the Raj Bhawan. Panun Kashmir also appreciated the decision of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board to organise the Yatra to the shrine this calendar year for full two months. This reflects the aspirations of the devotees as well as the people connected with the historical Amarnath Annual Yatra.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, P K in his address said that PDK lauded the initiative of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Saheb Sammaan Yatra Organising Committee. It was after a long time that the Yatra to Shri Anandpur Saheb was undertaken jointly by the Kashmiri Pandits, Sikhs, Dogras and Punjabi Hindus. It has sent a strong message of love, brotherhood and harmony across. It is due to the supreme sacrifice of Shri Guru Ji Maharaj that India exists in this form, so was he rightly called as the “Hind Di Chadar”.
Panun Kashmir along with the other organizations expressed their intent to organise the Sammaan Yatra every year in the month of January to pay rich tributes to the memory of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji and connect the younger generations with the historical context practically, he added.
Prof. M.L.Raina, Chairman, PAC said that the cause of homeland is gaining great momentum due to the activism of the organization.
Virender Raina, national spokesperson-PK said that the issue pertaining to the Holocaust of 1990 has a great bearing on the fate and future of the KP community and the nation. “We are thankful to the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council of the J&K State for passing a resolution on the displacement of the Kashmiri Pandits on the Holocaust Day last year”. “We appeal to the other State Assemblies as well to pass such resolutions in their houses regarding the Holocaust and ethnic cleansing of the Kashmiri Pandits on this year’s Holocaust Day or thereafter”, he added.
