JAMMU, Feb 9: Casual Labour Unions of various Government departments will hold protest against the Government for not conceding their demands on February 12.
This was disclosed by Mohammad Gafoor Dar, State president, J&K National Trade Union Front during a press conference here today.
He added that all the casual labour unions including J&K PWD casual labours union, J&K PHE casual labours union, JDA casual labours union, J&K Forest daily wagers union, J&K Floriculture casual labours union and J&K Soil Conservation Labours Union will jointly hold protest under the banner of J&K National Trade Union Front on February 12 at Press Club.
Dar appealed to all the casual labours working in various departments to participate in the protest in large numbers to force the Government for immediate settlement of their burning demands including regularization policy for all casual labours and it trained engaged after 1994, regularization of left over DRW’s under SRO-64 in forest and PHE, immediate payment of all the pending wages of PWD and PHE casual labours, maintaining of proper wages head in all the department, implementation of the agreement signed between Government and the employees leaderships.
He alleged that the Government has failed to uphold its promise made with the working class of the State, thus forcing the poor casual labours and other employees to come on the streets.
Among others present were Rajinder Kumar, Nazir Ahmad Molvi, Ajay Kumar, Aijaz Ahmed, Satish Kumar, Mushtaq Ahmad, Molvi Muneer Ahmad, Mehmood Trali, Parveen Kumar, Mohammad Latif and Sudesh Kumar.
