Caste based reservation should come to end: GCPFJ

JAMMU, May 27: General Category People’s Forum (GCPFJ) has demanded that caste based reservation should come to an end in the country and economic condition of the family should be the criteria for it.
In a meeting of the Forum held here today under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, the members strongly advocated for bringing caste based reservation to an end in the country. They said it is possible only under Modi Government. He said results of this Lok Sabha elections have suggested that people have rejected the politics of casteism, communalism and regionalism.
Yash Paul Sanson, president of the Forum stressed upon the Modi Government to focus on removing caste based discriminations being domne to the majority through caste based reservation and concessions and adhere to the basic principles of equality, justice and dignity to all. Mr Sanson lauded Modi for his remarks on caste in which he said that today, we have only castes, the poor and those who strived and help in eradication of poverty.
Som Nath, general secretary urged upon the Prime Minister to initiate legal and constitutional measures to undo the injustice, discrimination committed with majority of people in the name of social justice. He demanded that poor and backward families irrespective of castes and religion be brought under the purview of social justice.
