Srinagar, Nov 20: Scores of students of MANUU Arts and Science College (Women), Srinagar today protested and demanded that their faculty which left the campus in August shall return at the earliest.
Holding placards and raising slogans, the students said their career has been jeopardized as the faculty left the campus alleging that they were threatened to leave. The students, however, said that nothing of that sort actually happened.

“The entire faculty of the college comes from outside, and as of now, the campus stands closed as they have left. The faculty said that they were attacked and were told to leave,” said Fahmeeda Akhtar, a student.
Ironically, the students alleged that they are being told to come to Hyderabad, if they are willing to continue with their studies. “How can that be possible that they will ask us to come there; we have non-local faculty in Kashmir University as well as the Central University, if they did not leave and were not threatened, who asked the faculty of our college to leave,” she added.
The students pursuing various PG courses at the college said that they in their third semester as of now, and if their studies did not continue, their 2 years will be a mere waste.
The students said that the career of more than 50 students is at stake and the Government should take the immediate steps to bring back our faculty. “They are being told that the situation is not good in Kashmir, however, everything is okay and they should return immediately so that we could continue our studies,” another student said.
They said that the college administration has made a mockery of their career. They said that they go to the college every day and every day they are told their faculty will be back in week. “All we are doing is waiting for them to come, but nothing has been done so far to take care of our career,” they lamented.
