JAMMU, Sept 9: The Department of Cardiology, Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu had added another feather to its cap by performing advanced cardiac intervention procedures successfully at Super Specialty Hospital.
The team of doctors and staff which performed the advances treatment in Cardiology Department of the GMC Jammu was headed by Dr Sushil Sharma, Head of Department, Cardiology and comprised Dr Sanjeev Bhat and cardiac interventional staff led by Waryam Singh.
The team successfully implanted the most recent bio degradable coronary sten in a 40 years old patient whereas in another patient aged 64 years, the team performed MRI compatible single chamber pacemaker implantation successfully.
Dr Sushil Sharma after conducting the most recent advanced procedures said whatever latest and best devices and procedures are brought out, the Cardiology Department is bringing that to doorstep of needy cardiac patients of Jammu.
The Cardiology Department regularly conducts workshops in association with best faculty in the world so as to bring up the expertise of this centre to one of the best in Indian perspective, Dr Sharma said.
