Cardamom weakens on muted demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 30:  In limited deals, prices of cardamom brown fell by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today as demand eased from retailers and stockists at prevailing higher levels amidst adequate stocks on increased arrivals from producing regions.
Cardamom brown-Jhundiwali and Kanchicut prices declined by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 1,370-1,390 and Rs 1,440-1,640 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down cardamom prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 175-240, black pepper (per kg) 720-850, betel-nut (kg) 260-330, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,370-1,390 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,440-1,640.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 545-665, cardamom (colour robin) 545-555, cardamom bold 585-605, cardamom extra (bold) 685-695 and cloves 560-690. (PTI)
