Cardamom futures up on pick-up in demand

NEW DELHI, May 6:  Cardamom prices rose by Rs 3.30 to Rs 763.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions after pick up in demand in the spot market in view of marriage season.
Tight stocks availability in the physical market on less arrivals from producing belt further fuelled the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange cardamom for delivery in May rose by Rs 3.30, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 763.40 per kg in business turnover of 516 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in June contract traded higher by Re 1, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 781.60 per kg in 147 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on pick-up in demand in the spot market supported by ongoing marriage season amid lower arrivals from producing region mainly helped cardamom prices to trade higher at futures trade. (PTI)
