Cardamom futures slide 0.35 pc on subdued spot demand

NEW DELHI, Dec 18: Cardamom prices slid by 0.35 per cent to Rs 748.20 per kg in futures trade today owing to subdued demand in the spot market against adequate supplies from producing region.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February slide by Rs 2.60, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 748.20 per kg in business turnover of 39 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in January weakened by 90 paise, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 720 per kg in 135 lots.
Market analysts said speculators reduced their positions on the back of subdued demand in the spot market against adequate supplies from producing region mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
