NEW DELHI, Feb 17: Cardamom prices rose 0.53 per cent to Rs 808.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions on firm spot market demand.
Further, restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April rose Rs 4.30, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 808.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 61 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in March jumped Rs 4.10, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 402 per kg, with trading volume of 402 lots.
Traders said rising demand in the spot market against less arrivals from producing regions mainly led to an upsurge in cardamom futures prices. (AGENCIES)
