NEW DELHI, Feb 25: Cardamom prices fell by 0.63 per cent to Rs 777 per kg in futures trading today as speculators offloaded positions amid sluggish demand at prevailing higher levels in the spot market.
Adequate stocks position in the physical market due to increased arrivals from producing belts also weighed on cardamom futures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March fell by Rs 4.90, or 0.63 per cent to Rs 777 per kg in business turnover of 169 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in April shed Rs 4.20, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 807.90 per kg in 88 lots.
Market analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators, driven by sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
