NEW DELHI, May 26: Continuing its winning streak for the third straight day, cardamom prices advanced 0.78 per cent to Rs 843.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in enlarging their positions amid a firming trend at spot market on rising demand.
Also, tight stock position in the physical market due to restricted supplies from producing regions fuelled the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June gained Rs 6.50, or 0.78 per cent, to Rs 843.70 per kg in business turnover of 105 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July contract traded higher by Rs 3.90, or 0.49 per cent, at Rs 807.00 per kg in 5 lots.
Market analysts said besides rising demand in the spot market, tight supplies from producing regions mainly kept cardamom prices higher in futures trade. (PTI)
