NEW DELHI, May 15: Continuing a downward journey, cardamom futures prices fell by 2.17 per cent to Rs 675 per kg today as speculators trimmed positions amid adequate stocks following increased arrivals from producing belts in the physical market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May fell by Rs 15, or 2.15 per cent, to Rs 675 per kg in business turnover of 80 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in June declined by Rs 9.30, or 1.21 per cent, to Rs 754.80 per kg, with a trading volume of 750 lots.
Market analysts said besides subdued demand, increased arrivals from producing regions, mainly kept pressure on the cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
