Cardamom futures down on profit-booking

NEW DELHI, July 14:  Cardamom futures tumbled 3.99 per cent to hit lower circuit at Rs 815.40 per kg today after speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid subdued spot demand.
Further, sufficient stocks in the physical market also weighed on the prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for July contracts fell sharply by Rs 33.90, or 3.99 per cent, to hit lower circuit at Rs 815.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 60 lots.
The spice for delivery in August fell by Rs 1.80, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 809.90 per kg, with a trading volume of 134 lots.
Marketmen said besides profit-booking by speculators at existing prices, fall in demand at spot market also dragged down cardamom prices at futures trade here. (PTI)
