Cardamom futures decline on sluggish spot demand

NEW DELHI, July 17: Cardamom futures lost 0.43 per cent to Rs 802.30 per kg on the back of sluggish demand at the spot market against ample stocks.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for August contracts slipped by Rs 3.50, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 802.30 per kg with a business turnover of 287 lots.

Cardamom for delivery in September fell by Rs 2.20, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 790.50 per kg with a trading volume of 24 lots.

Marketmen said besides profit-booking by speculators at existing prices, fall in demand at spot market put pressure on cardamom prices in futures market. (PTI)
