JAMMU, Sept 17: One hundred and three establishments dealing in meat and chicken, bar and restaurants etc in parts of Jammu city were subjected to inspection by a team of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department Jammu undere the supervision of Director CA&PD Department Jammu, G S Chib.
The inspection was conducted by a team of the department headed by Deputy Director (Supplies) Atam Dev Singh and comprising Assistant director Mumtaz Mirza and area inspectors Rajinder Kumar, Raman Kumar, Pritpal Singh, Harpal Singh, Yogesh Kumar, Subash Chander and SA Vishwa Mittar made inspections in areas of Toph Sherkhanian, Subash Nagar, Sarwal, Janipur, New Plot, Ambphalla, KC Chowk, Prem Nagar, Gujjar Nagar, Narwal and Bhatindi and booked 30 defaulters and recovered a fine of Rs 32,400 on the spot for violation of various provisions of Essential Commodities Act, viz non-display of rate lists, over-charging, use opf domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes etc.
The commercial establishments were warned not to violate the provisions contained under EC Act and adhere to the norms and rates notified from time to time.
