NEW DELHI, June 11: PCC president and sitting Rajya Sabha MP Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz today questioned whether Modi could build strong India without the support of Muslims.
Speaking in the Rajya Sabha today on the resolution presented by the Treasury Benches for the President’s address to the joint session of the Parliament, Prof Soz said without the involvement of Muslims it was not possible to build strong India. The major question before the country is how Modi can build a strong and modern India without including Muslims, other minorities and weaker sections of society.
Prof Soz pointed out that J&K State had been left out from the address by the President. The address did not say a word on rebuilding infrastructure in J&K State and its over all development. It has not mentioned anything about Zoji-La tunnel which can prove to be a boon for backward areas of Ladakh region. The BJP does not want to say anything about the settlement of problems of refugees from PoK and west Pakistan. The only the address indicated was that Kashmiri Pandits should go back to their homes in Kashmir. Prof Soz urged the Modi Government to accept the package for Kashmiri Pandits that had already been recommended by the J&K Government.
