Call for Jammu Bandh gets support from various organizations

JAMMU, Apr 9: Various political, social and student organizations have extended their active support to proposed Jammu Bandh on April 11, a call for which has been given by the J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu in protest against illegal settlement of Rohingyas here, minutes of the Tribal Affairs Department meeting and in support of the demand for CBI probe into Rassana death incident.
Jammu Province Peoples’ Forum (JPPF) held an emergency meeting wherein a unanimous decision was taken for extending support to Jammu Bandh on April 11.
“We support the Jammu Bandh call by the Bar Association on April 11 in support of demand for revocation of illegal directives issued in pursuance to a meeting of the Tribal Affairs Department held on February 14, 2018, handing over of investigation to the CBI for a fair probe into the Rassana (Hiranagar) murder case and deportation of illegally settled Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in and around Jammu,”said Paviter Singh adding that the JPPF has been raising these issues from time to time but Government has totally failed to respect the aspirations and fulfill the genuine demands of the public.
Paviter Singh also made an appeal to Jammu Bar to extend free of cost support to anyone against whose any case is  registered by police during the Jammu Bandh on April 11.
Kranti Dal, Jammu and Kashmir has also extended full support to the one-day Jammu bandh call given by the Bar Association against discrimination with Jammu region.
State president of the Kranti Dal, Pritam Sharma, in a statement issued today, lashed out at the BJP-PDP Coalition Government for its “discriminatory” attitude and appealed to the general public of Jammu to keep all types of business establishments closed for the day and public transport off the roads.
The Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray State unit, in an urgent meeting held here today under the chairmanship of general secretary Manish Sahni, announced support to Jammu Bandh for demanding immediate deportation of Rohingyas from Jammu province and CBI enquiry into Rassana murder case.
Manish Sahni said that the State Government did nothing during its 3- year tenure for the betterment of Jammuites. He warned the Government to take stern action against the illegal settlement of Rohingyas or be ready to face dire consequences.
Shri Ram Sena, Jammu and Kashmir unit, also extended full support to Jammu Bandh call for April 11 and said that all demands of the Jammu Bar Association were justified.
In a statement, Shri Ram Sena State president Rajiv Mahajan said that the Jammu province has suffered neglect on an unprecedented scale during the past seven decades and the time has finally come for all, irrespective of their political and religious affiliation, to come forward and launch a united struggle against the anti-Jammu policies of the Governments in the State.
An emergency meeting of Student Wing of NCP was held under the chairmanship of Er Rishi Kaul Kilam,  National Executive Council Member of Nationalist Student Congress (NSC) wherein it was resolved to support the Jammu Bandh call on 11th April given by Bar Association Jammu in support of their genuine demands.
NCP student wing (NSC) has appreciated  Bar Association for bringing awareness among the people of Jammu as injustice and discrimination at all levels is being done with the people of this province.
NSC also appealed  all the people of Jammu to make Jammu Bandh a grand success.
