Cabinet meet on Sat may take JK’s metro projects

JAMMU, Feb 23: The Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi which generally meets every Wednesday has been deferred for Saturday in view of preoccupation of the Prime Minister and Ministers in the election campaigning in Uttar Pradesh and there were reports that Metro rail projects for Jammu and Srinagar cities might be taken up for approval in the meeting.
The Ministers including Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh have been asked not to schedule tours of their Parliamentary constituencies for Saturday in view of the Cabinet meeting.
The metro rail projects were likely to be taken up for approval on February 17 but have been delayed.
Their approval is expected anytime now, sources said.
