Cabinet likely to fill vacant posts of SSPs, promote 2 IPS officers

JAMMU, Apr 23: State Cabinet, which is meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah tomorrow morning, is likely to fill up the vacant posts of Senior Superintendents of four districts and order promotion of two IPS officers. This would be last Cabinet meeting in Winter Capital before Annual Darbar Move.
Authoritative sources told EXCELSIOR that the Cabinet is likely to fill up the vacant posts of SSPs of Jammu, Kishtwar, Udhampur and Baramulla districts, which have been lying vacant for the past quite some time. While making appointments of SSPs of these districts, the Cabinet may also order reshuffle of heads of police in other districts also, sources added.
They informed that IPS officer of 1999 batch S R Samuel is being promoted to the Super Time Scale of DIG and Udhay Bhaskar Billa, IPS officer of 2007 will get Senior Time Scale.
The Cabinet will also order creation of posts for J&K Heritage Conservation and Preservation Authority, which was created for conservation and preservation of heritage both tangible and intangible including buildings, structures, monuments, precincts, sites, artifacts, sculptures, paintings, handicrafts, manuscripts, music, dance, drama, performing act, poetry, living traditions like crafts and cuisine etc.
In order to make J&K Heritage Conservation and Preservation Authority functional, the Department of Tourism and Culture has projected the immediate requirement of five posts, which are likely to receive the Cabinet nod tomorrow.
The posts being created in the Authority include that of Chief Conservationist, Conservation Assistant, Accounts Assistants, Junior Assistant and others.
