JAMMU, Aug 9: Buta Nagar Residents Welfare Committee has expressed grave concern over the hurdles being created by JDA in construction of Sulabh Toilet Complex in the area.
In a statement issued here, today, the Committee president B S Jasrotia said that it is strange that Sulabh Toilet Complex was sanctioned for a cost of Rs 17.60 lacks three years back by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
He said tenders were called and work on the toilet complex was started but unfortunately the work was stopped for want of permission by JDA authorities as JDA claims that the land on which the toilet complex has been constructed belongs to it.
The Committee said that if it was so why the JDA did not object on the very first day when the foundation of the complex was laid and when the toilet complex has reached the slab level the JDA has stopped the work.
The Committee in an appeal to Chief Minister has sought her immediate intervention and termed the JDA action a hurdle in the way of Prime Minister’s Swach Bharat Abhiyan.
