JAMMU, Mar 24: Aimed at fostering dialogue and connect between academic and corporate spheres, Businessline Campus Connect Lecture series was held at The Business School, University of Jammu, for the students of MBA, PGDBM and Research Scholars.
Ajoy Shah, Trainer Coach and Mentor at JK Tyre and Industries Ltd, was the keynote speaker of the event. He enlightened the students about the importance of being relevant and adaptable when dealing with change, managing one’s expectations, and adhering to principles of integrity, along with the comprehensive list of career do’s and don’ts. He shared the significance of being proactive in life to avoid future shocks. He emphasized about having realistic expectations and gave important pointers to the students regarding the necessary corporate etiquette.
During his interactive session with the audience, he shared his own experiences from his long professional journey. He concluded his address with an engaging and motivating visual presentation.
Sunil Mirza, GM North, ‘The Hindu’, started the event with a lively introduction about ‘The Hindu’ and its latest financial publication. He explained the Businessline campus connect as a student-industry interface programme where industry and academia come on the same platform and exchange their thoughts.
Anjani Kumar, Divisional Head, IOCL Jammu, shared insights from his rich industrial experience and made participants aware about the future projects of the IOCL in Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Professor, The Business School and Director, Directorate of Distance and Online Education, JU, graced the occasion as the chief guest of the event. She shared her life experiences, emphasizing the distinction between a job and a career. She highlighted the importance of maintaining respect towards others and nurturing relationships for a fulfilling career.
Earlier, Prof Vinay Chauhan, Director, The Business School, apprised the participants about the salient features of the lecture series.
Dr Saloni Devi, Assistant Professor, The Business School, presented the formal vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Dr Aubid Hussain Parrey, Assistant Professor, The Business School, JU. The event was attended by Prof Sameer Gupta, Prof Alka Sharma, Dr Amisha Gupta, Dr Komal Nagar, Dr Rachna and Dr Farah S Choudhary.
