SRINAGAR, 21 July: Burglars on Sunday night smashed open three shops in Reshi Complex in Iqbal Market Sopore, catching police in slumber, and looted cash and other goods worth lakhs.
Haji Mohammad Ashraf, president traders federation Sopore, told Excelsior that burglars broke open three shops-GM Xerox, Qadri Xerox and a Airtel Retail outlet– and looted electronic goods including cells phones, two electric generators, cameras, and cash from them.
Ashraf criticized police for failing to guard the market despite it being in the heart of the town. The shopkeepers asked police to step in and nab the burglars, and the stolen goods from them.
