Srinagar, Sept 26: Police today said it have arrested a burglar and recovered stolen items from his possession in Anantnag district.
A police spokesman said that Police Station Mattan received a written complaint from one person namely Adil Hussain Wani that some unknown burglars barged and looted his shop during night hours at Seer Hamdan. “In this regard, a case under FIR number 75/ 2017 under Sections 457, 380 RPC was registered and investigation was set into motion,” he said.
During investigation, police zeroed on one person namely Zahid Ahmad Wani. “On questioning the accused revealed that he is involved in the crime and on his instance 21 boxes of cigarette were recovered,” the spokesman said, adding that further investigation of the case was taken up.
