KATHUA, Aug 30: A burglar has been hospitalized after he was beaten by a mob in border village of Hari Chak falling under the jurisdiction of PS Rabagh in Marian tehsil of Kathua district late last night.
According to police, three burglars late last night intruded in the house of Rakesh Kumar in border village of Hari Chak and decamped with 100 grams of gold and Rs 15,000 in cash. However, the inmates of the house after hearing some sound wake up and raised the alarm. The people of adjoin houses also came out of their houses and they caught hold of one of the thief namely Raghunath S/o Suraj Parkash and thrashed him.
He received serious injuries. He was first taken to Hiranagar SDH by police where seeing his condition critical, doctors referred him to GMC Jammu for treatment. However, his other two accomplices fled with cash and gold.
The police after recording the statement of injured burglar will launch the search operation for arrest of the other two absconding burglars.
