Bukhari reviews status of litigations

SRINAGAR, June 27: Minister for Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs and Relief & Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari today, reviewed the status of litigations pertaining to the construction of fly-over from Rambagh to Jehangir Chowk.
Advocate General, J&K, Jahangir Iqbal Ganai, Commissioner Secretary, Housing & Urban Development, Bipul Pathak, Secretary Revenue, Mohammad Afzal Bhat, Secretary Law, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone besides senior officers from SMC, ERA and Law Department were present in the meeting.
The Advocate General briefed the Minister about the status of the case pending before the High Court at Srinagar, relating to the shopkeepers likely to be displaced from around Jehangir Chowk.
During the meeting extensive discussions were held to address the issue, so that the stand of the State Government is projected before the High Court in the best possible manner, safeguarding the interest of the Government and the general public as well.
The Minister directed the concerned to ensure that all bottlenecks are removed so as to facilitate the completion of the project in a time bound manner, and ease the traffic flow in the area.
The Minister also said that all Administrative Departments should be prompted to pursue the court cases pertaining to their departments, with specific emphasis on the cases which are related to the development of infrastructure.
