SRINAGAR, June 15: Minister for R&B, Gardens, Parks and Floriculture, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, who is also the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC), presided over 89th meeting of Board of Directors of the Corporation here today.
Minister of State for R&B and Revenue, Sunil Kumar Sharma, Commissioner Secretary, R&B, Secretary Health and Medical Education, Director General Budget, Development Commissioner Works, MD JKPCC, Chief Engineer, R&B Kashmir, Director Planning and Development besides other senior officers of the Corporation were present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed in detail the working and the future plans for making the Corporation profitable venture. Besides reviewing the status of the decisions of previous meeting, the Board also took several other decisions in the interest of the working of the Corporation.
Underlining need for improving the financial position of the Corporation, the Minister asked JKPCC authorities to get all the accounts of remaining period audited within five months and submit the balance-sheets in the next meeting of the Board.
R&B Minister also instructed MD JKPCC to introduce Management Information System (MIS) to ensure that information regarding the working of the Corporation reaches the Directors of the Board quickly. The MD was also asked to furnish copy of physical and financial achievements of the Corporation to the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Directors of the Board on monthly basis.
Syed Altaf asked MD of the Corporation to get all the works and workmen insured before taking up the project. He said this will safeguard the interests of the Corporation as well the employees.
Stressing for strict implementation of the Government orders, issued from time to time, the Minister directed concerned officers to look into the issue as to why Housing Board, Police Housing Corporation, SIDCO and SICOP are interfering into the mandate of the Corporation. He asked the authorities of the Corporation to spruce up the working culture and ensure prudent utilization of the available human resources.
In a significant decision, the Board in recognition of the performance of Anika Shabir in 10th class examination, decided to regularize the services of her father Shabir Ahmad Rather, who is working as a casual worker in JKPCC as a token of encouragement for Anika. The Corporation will also provide a laptop to Anika.
Earlier, Managing Director, PL Bushan gave detailed resume of the functioning of the Corporation and the status of the projects and financial position.
