JAMMU, Feb 20: Chairman of JMC’s House Committee for Framing Building Schemes and Plans for Jammu City, Rajinder Sharma has alleged slackness on the part of the officers in approving building permissions.
In a press conference here today Sharma said this slackness in turn forces the permission seekers to visit touts for help.
“There is administrative mismanagement as the online process of building permissions in Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is not followed in letter and spirit,” Sharma claimed adding that, to get building permission from JMC no objection certificates (NOCs) from the offices of ACR, ACN, PDD, PHE, UEED, JDA, Town Planning are required in the case of residential buildings while one additional NOC from Fire and Emergency Services is needed for commercial buildings.
“These departments deliberately delay the NOCs and do not follow online procedure or digitalization process. This on one hand harasses the NOC seekers and on the other hand it breeds corruption,” he maintained.
Sharma also said that as of now 1269 such NOCs are pending with ACR’s office and 1225 with JMC.
He also said that despite many camps and Darbars being organized by the officers from time to time nothing fruitful has been achieved as the public is continuously suffering due to the official apathy of the officials.
